This belt pouch is an identical design reproduction of the original Rollei 35 belt pouch. It is not the zipper glove case which was supplied with the camera or the very rare eveready case which they also made. The original Rollei belt pouch case was an accessory offered in the early '70's. Our case is the same design, it is very compact and only a shade larger than the camera and will also accommodate the rubber lens shade. The case has a Velcro flap as did the original. The original Rollei pouch was thin leather glued on a cardboard form which was prone to separate around the flap. The original case also has felt paper lining and vinyl piping which would eventually turn to goo. Our pouch is solid black leather with a soft, brown suede lining. The leather has a textured grain selected to complement the rubber grain on the camera. The pouch attaches to one's belt using a pair of leather loops which are double riveted to the case. Our belt loops are double layered for extra strength. The case is trimmed with quality leather piping. Our pouch is designed, as was the original, to be used without the wrist strap. The camera fits snug, is very secure and can be easily accessed. However, if you are one who prefers to use the wrist strap we can modify the side of the case with an 3mm vertical incision that goes to the middle of the case. This will allow room for the 1/4 inch metal fastener which connects the strap to the camera to slide down and extend outside the case. The strap can be looped back over the camera and underneath the flap. If you are interested in this modification, make your request known to us at the time you place an order. |
