Subject: M6 full case report
Hello George,
The M6 full case is working out fine. It's really a beautiful piece of work
and I like the way it smells(!). It looks great on my LHSA and only comes
off (the bottom half, that is) for reloading. I don't think I'll need it
anytime soon, but can you recommend treatment so it doesn't dry out?
Also, I can report that the case (medium snout) works fine (that is, fits)
with my collapsible 50/2 Summicron in the extended (non-collapsed) position
OR with that lens collapsed and the 12585 shade mounted (facing forward, not
reversed like you do when you want to add the cap). Of course, the case
will also fit the lens partially collapsed with the shade mounted in reverse
and the cap attached (the lens won't fully collapse with the shade reversed
because the shade contacts the focusing tab). In any event, it's nice that
I don't have to "un-reverse" the shade to start shooting. (By the way, for
full disclosure's sake, my lens is a screw-mount with M adapter, but I
believe the collapsible M-mount lens is the same size.) Hope this info is
useful to you.
I found a source for a great price on Voigtlander-Cosina lenses so, if you
like, I'll be able to report shortly on whether the case fits the camera
with the Ultron 35/1.7, Nokton 50/1.5 or Color Heliar 75/2.5 (with adapters,
of course).
I enjoyed seeing your picture on your site; nice to put a face with a name.
You can find a (lousy; I'm MUCH more handsome!) pic of me at
http://www.kutakrock.com/Index/Attorneys/attorneys.html.
Any word on when the IIIf case will be coming?
Best regards,
